When men choose eyeglasses, comfort, how well they fit the face and durability play the biggest role. Although many men care about their style, they usually would not sacrifice comfort and a good fit just to look better.
According to recent consumer research, 88% of men said comfort and fit were the most important factors when buying glasses, followed by durability (59%).
When asked about other features that add value, 52% of men said it is important that their eyeglasses have spring hinges on the temples, and about 50% said they would choose a more flexible and durable frame.

Comfort and fit

Here are some key points to check to make sure the frame you choose is comfortable and fits your face well.
To make sure the temples do not press and leave a mark on the temporal areas of your head, ensure the frame is wide enough for your face. The edge of the frame should extend slightly beyond your face so the temples do not touch your head as they reach back to your ears.
Next, make sure the temples are long enough — frames come with different temple lengths.
The curve at the end of the temple should extend over your ear without pressing on it. The optician can shape and adjust this curve when fitting your glasses, but cannot make the temples shorter or longer, so make sure you choose the right length.
Also check the point where the frame meets the nose for comfort and proper fit. Many glasses have adjustable silicone nose pads that let your optician fine-tune the fit. For frames without adjustable pads, make sure the fit is secure and correct without pressing on your nose bridge.
When you try a frame on, move your head up and down, bend over and pick something off the floor, and see how well your glasses stay in place. With properly adjusted nose pads and temples, your glasses should stay put without pressing on your face.

Durability of men's eyeglasses
