What exactly are UV rays?

Ultraviolet (UV) rays lie just before violet, in the visible light spectrum. Their main source is sunlight. The ultraviolet light is divided into three different types: UVA, UVB and UVC. UVC rays do not reach the Earth, because the ozone in the atmosphere blocks them.

What are the different types of sunglass lenses?

Different sunglass lens tints can help you see better in different conditions.

  • Blue-blocker lenses block blue light and usually have an amber-brown color. Studies show blue light is harmful and could increase the risk of eye damage from diseases such as macular degeneration. These lenses are popular among skiers, hunters, boaters and pilots, who use them to increase contrast.
